Your character will not earn any skill points from 'skinning' corpses using the toy. Seriously, Blizz?
Edit: This toy was nerfed with the launch of Beta For Azeroth. It now only works for mob level ≤ 113. Just take it off your action bar - it will not work on BfA mobs even if they are scaled to 113 and lower. ಠ_ಠ
